Sorry for poor pun in the title but according an article from the Guardian, Google’s internet browser, Chrome is out of beta as they look to increase their user base. The article goes on to mention that Chrome has been downloaded by over 10 million people in over 200 countries now which seems impressive but would be interested to see their market share against Internet Explorer, et al. My view is that Chrome is more likely to eat in to Firefox’s market share more than IE’s but it will be interesting to see how it pans out in 2009.
Also as Chrome usage increases advertisers will need to ensure that their ads and sites are optimised to work correctly as I’ve already seen a number of Flash ads that don’t.
Personally, I have been using Chrome for a few months now and love it. Now they just need to bring out a version for the Mac!
